STRANGE FRUIT

Spitting Image Zoom Live tomorrow with Norma Johnson

Chapter 4 of Spitting Image is entitled "Paradise Lost." It's about traumatic events that may have robbed a little boy of his innocence too soon, but it might have been more appropriately been called "Strange Fruit." The chapter begins with a loving description of the Levi family matriarch, my grandmother Gladys A. Levi (whom we called "A"). Grandmother married Joseph Levi, but her maiden name was Pettiford. The Pettiford has a very long and rich history which can be traced easily back to the 1700's. The expert on the Pettiford family history is my honored guest tomorrow, Ms. Norma Johnson

Join us at 4pm central to learn about this extraordinary family of free black people to made their way from the east coast to Grant County Indiana and make a whole lot of history along the way. Learn how Norma has been able to trace her roots back so far in spite of the "brick wall" of slavery most African-Americans face when finding their roots. It's all the way live at facebook.com/ronleviauthor. #SIZL
